High Definition: The Sony Bravia 55HX800 is a high definition TV with 55 inch screen and Dynamic Edge Led blacklight. It has a resolution of 1920×1080 p and offers high definition view. It is standard with Engine 3 processor and has view angle of 178 degree.
Ports and Buttons: Sony Bravia KDL55X800 has two HDMI ports and one USB port which are situated at the back of the TV. This is done so that most of the wires get attached perpendicular to the TV. This model also includes one video-in port which is situated on the front left hand side, in case you want to mount it on the wall. The TV also includes one LAN port, an audio out, two component ports, a cable/antenna, a digital audio-out, a PC in and 3D Sync port.
Remote: The remote of TV has flat back and concave from the front. The remote offers a power button on the back which is not necessary and it is just to complement the one which is on the front. There are many buttons which can be helpful for you to find your favourite channel. You can add anything to the favourites menu, for instance channels, music files, and pictures.
Web Apps: Sony offers variety of Web apps which care generally categorised as video, music, and photo. The apps include Amazon, Concierge, COM, and Blip. TV, Crackle, Dr. Oz, Fear net, Golflink.com, FIFE World Cup Collection, Hula Plus, You Tube and many more.
Sony also offers on demand movie service, for which you need to create a user account on Qriocity.com. You can rent movies at $5 each.
Price: The Sonny Bravia is quite affordable according to its features. It just costs about $3600, which is comparatively lower than other brands which sell this type of product.
Sony KDL55HX800 Review – The Disadvantages
Lack of USB menu: although Sony offers USB port but it does not have a menu for USB media. For USB you have to search for your drive in program menus like videos, pictures or music.
Contrast: The picture has good dimension but colour and contrast are little off. A slight judder was noticeable in horizontal panning after you turn on Motionflow. Even whites look tad warm and the contrast is dialled up a bit high.
Improper 3D effects: As 3D movies are played in small screens there are more boundaries.
3D objects do not pop out properly and because of this depth is not reasonable. If you turn off the lights then the glasses may give you a headache.
